Live Free or Die Hard

I went to see the new Die Hard movie tonight, Live Free or Die Hard. It was great ... I LOVE fast paced action movies like that. There were fabulous car chases and shoot out scenes. And there was an amazing scene where the terrorists took clips from speeches made by at least a dozen American Presidents and pasted single words or phrases together to get their message across the airwaves. That was SO cool!!

The previews before the movie included a preview for the new Simpsons movie (which I don't really plan to see). They have been talking about finally revealing where Springfield is. There are so many states that have a Springfield. Well, in a scene in the preview there's a line that goes like this: "Look at that, you can see the four states that border Springfield: Ohio, Nevada, Maine, and Kentucky!" It was hilarious! Anyone who knows even a little geography laughed right out loud. But THEN, in the actual Die Hard movie the action moves from DC (which is paralyzed in gridlock) to the main characters carjacking a vehicle and driving quickly to West Virginia where they have a super huge calamity at a power plant and then they hop a helicopter and fly quickly to Baltimore because "it's not that far away". Fascinating. That wasn't supposed to be funny that time! I always get a kick out of how the DC area is portrayed in movies. But I've never seen it set up as a hop, skip and a jump to West Virginia. Haha!!

Anyway - go see it. Lots of fast paced fun!

CAVITIES!!

Okay, so I KNOW that I've been fortunate over the years to have never had a cavity. They say that cavities are on the rise with younger people these days because people don't really drink tap water any more, and tap water has fluoride in it ... most young people drink bottled water without the added fluoride. Well, I've always had a lot of tap water, and am not too concerned about bottled water. And, I must have good genes in the tooth department, because my teeth have always been really strong.

Well, I had my yearly dentist appointment this morning. We always joke about the fact that they want me to come in every 6 months and I refuse to do so because they never find anything wrong. Hahaha.

Not this time. No joke. My next appointment is scheduled for one week from today ... to drill and fill three cavities in my molars. Eesh! There is decay just under the surface of the teeth. He caught them early. I'm tending toward denial ... I want him to ignore them so that I can ignore them, and then they'll just go away. Right?

UGH!!

More about my site feed

Halt the presses! I was just plain wrong. (Duh, me!) I had the links to my feed all wrong. Now I have straightened them out. Now you can actually get real updates for my blog using the new "feed" link. Thanks for your patience with my web experimentation. :-)
