Madea

Okay, you may recall that I'm a Madea fan. Or, rather, a Tyler Perry fan. Yup. I saw his latest movie, Madea's Family Reunion, this weekend. It was HILARIOUS and wonderful. I laughed, I cried, I laughed until I cried. There were messages and touching moments, and Maya Angelou and Cicely Tyson. Yeah - you really need to go see it!!

Memes!!

I have recently been tagged for a meme. Yeah. So I looked up "meme" on Wikipedia. Here is what Wikipedia had to say on the topic. That wasn't good enough for me, though ... so I went to my friend Kate, who is infinitely smarter than Wikipedia. Kate told me that "A Meme just means a stupid thing that people pass around on blogs filling out information about yourself."

So, to pick up on the meme from Kate, here goes:

Four jobs I've had:
  • Piano accompanist for an all girls' choir at SUNY Geneseo.
  • Ticket sales person at the box office at Buffalo's Shea's Performing Arts Theater.
  • Dog Census enumerator for the Town of Cheektowaga, NY.
  • Teacher of a GED computer course for adults who had never previously touched a computer.

    Four movies I can watch over and over:
  • Casablanca (I've got the lines almost memorized ... wanna hear a demonstration? Besides, I can't resist any Humphrey Bogart movie!)
  • Shawshank Redemption (I can't ever turn it off or walk away ... it's captivating!)
  • Anna and the King (my favorite teacher movie)
  • No Way Out (I'm NOT a Kevin Costner fan ... but the ending of this movie still shocks me, even when I know exactly what is coming!!)

    Four books I can read over and over:
  • The Bible (I mean, let's be honest here!)
  • The Hiding Place, by Corrie ten Boom
  • Through Gates of Splendor, by Elisabeth Elliot
  • Mere Christianity, by C.S. Lewis
    (My four favorite authors!!)

    Four TV Shows that I love:
  • CSI (any of the versions, Las Vegas, Miami, or New York ... although the original, Las Vegas version has a slight edge on my list of favorites.)
  • 24 (How can you go wrong??)
  • 7th Heaven (only a few episodes left!!
  • M*A*S*H (I just can't pass up any of the episodes still being shown in syndication!!)

  • Cheektowaga, NY
  • Geneseo, NY
  • Alexandria, VA
  • Lorton, VA

    Four Places I've vacationed:
  • Colorado - my favorite vacation place!! God's country!!
  • Alaska - a fabulous road trip if you've got the time some day!!
  • The Pacific Coast - from Seattle to San Diego - the best part was the entire length of the Oregon Coast!!
  • Europe

    Four of my favorite dishes:
  • Lobster
  • Shrimp
  • Any shell fish
  • Does BREAD count as a dish??

    Four sites I visit daily:
  • Google and GMail
  • Photo.net
  • The Weather Channel
  • Wikipedia

    Four places I would rather be now:
  • Colorado - didn't I already say that?
  • My bed...
  • On a road trip
  • Having dinner with some good friends

    Now ... apparently I am supposed to tag four more people to pick up on this meme. But, the only person I know who has a blog besides Pat & Kate's friends is Amy, and she never updates her blog. Shame on Amy. And the only other people who read my blog other than Pat & Kate's friends are my friends who don't like to leave comments on my blog but who e-mail me their thoughts about the most recent post. Yeah. Why would I bother tagging anyone? Really.
