July 31 - San Diego;
Mission San Luis del Rey; Coronado
I think that San Diego is one
of the country's best kept secrets. I don't understand why everyone
doesn't long to live there. The temperatures are delightfully consistent,
the humidity is low, the ocean is close, and there is so much to do.
Amazing! Another place where I should have spent two weeks instead
of two days. As you know, the coast of California was partially settled
by Spanish missions, spaced out at approximately one day's travel apart.
I would also like to return to tour more of the missions. I spent
a few hours at the Mission San Luis del Rey, which is in Oceanside (a suburb
of San Diego). It was lovely. I also saw Coronado Island which
must be a traveler's dream come true ... lovely walkways and beaches looking
across the water to the San Diego skyline ... a small shopping district
... and the beautiful Hotel de Coronado.

First of
all, some pictures of my cousins' house. He is my mom's nephew.
She is from Thailand, and the Thai and Bhuddist culture make for a lovely
home.
