July 16 - Columbia River
Gorge (Oregon side)
From the Grand Teton National
Park, I went on into Idaho, and then from Boise I did interstates into
Oregon, and followed the Columbia River, which makes the state border with
Washington. It was a beautiful drive. I spent that night in
a small town along the river, and took some pictures in the morning as
well. All of the pictures are on this page.

In the picture
to the right, you can see the road just to the right of the river.
That's I-84. It was a beautiful drive for several hours along the
river. The terrain changed from a desert-like look to what you see
here. But ... there weren't many places to pull over and take a picture.
But I found an overlook up on the mountainside from which I took the beautiful
pics of the gorge. The two pictures below show the road that I had
just driven up.

The final
three pictures on this page are from Multnomah Falls, on the Oregon side
of the river. Looks like a tropical paradise, huh?
