The Wild

Oh no! It really has been about three weeks since I have posted. And ... this one is not going to be real long or deep. But I wanted to make a quick comment about the past two movies that I've seen.

First of all, about two weeks ago, I saw "The Sentinel", the new Keiffer Sutherland movie. It was great. Exactly like 24. In fact, they really ought to have named Keiffer's character "Jack" and have been done with it. Because it was like a two hour episode of 24.

Then, today, one of my colleagues was taking her two kids (ages 6 and 8) to "a kids movie" (her words) and I offered to go with (her kids are super fun!!) We thought we were going to see "Hoot" ... but instead we ended up seeing "The Wild" which is the new Disney movie. Now, first things first. The animation was spectacular. In fact, the animation in animated movies today is astounding! I can't imagine what we would have thought 25 years ago if we had known what animation would have become. I can just remember some of my first Disney animated movies. The comparison is amazing. Secondly, the story was cute, fast-paced, and a lot of fun. We had a great time. I love going to kids' movies with little kids that laugh at everything. You can't help but smile!

The funny thing is this. I didn't realize before going into the theater that the voice of the main character (a lion) was done by Keiffer Sutherland. Yup. Now, besides the fact that it was a cute animated movie, I honestly felt like I was watching 24. No joke. It hit me immediately and the feeling continued throughout the movie. Just hearing that voice read lines (no matter what lines) made me feel like I was watching 24. It was almost weird!!

Okay. I promise. There will be several more deep posts upcoming ... as soon as we start to wind down the school year. No trips this summer. No big exciting anything going on in my life. You'll hear from me. I promise.....
